At a Committee Meeting held on 30 January, the decision was made that owing to the Regulations and Restrictions required by the Queensland Health Department due to the impact of COVID-19, our annual show scheduled for 15 & 16 May would once again be cancelled. This decision was discussed and passed at the general meeting on 16 February 2021.
It is disappointing for the Club, but we must put the safety and wellbeing of our members and the general public first. The decision to cancel has not been made lightly; however, we feel it would be irresponsible to continue with the event.
Our obligation is to not facilitate any spread of the coronavirus and we would like to reiterate the importance of being vigilant with the processes and recommendations set out by the relevant Government authorities. We are seeing the affect that this is still having on many clubs with cancellation of events which were to be held in 2021.
These are undoubtedly testing times for all Australians, given the impact COVID-19 is having on the way we live. In the meantime, please be safe and heed the advice offered.
The annual HTAA show will be back bigger and better on the third weekend in May 2022.
